Annie Lombeida, DVM
Dr. Annie Lombeida is from Prior Lake, MN. She graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, with a degree in Biology in 2005, then went on to graduate from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2009. After graduation, she practiced companion animal veterinary medicine in the Chicago area for four years, where she met her husband, Antonio. After getting married, Annie and Antonio moved to Northwest Arkansas to be near Antonio’s family and continue their careers.
When an opportunity for practice ownership and to start a family near Annie’s family in Minnesota presented itself, Annie and Antonio jumped at the opportunity. In her years as a vet, Annie has enjoyed practicing small animal medicine and soft tissue surgery. She has also had the opportunity to work in a shelter setting as well multiple high quality, high volume neuter/spay clinics and has loved having the opportunity to help animals in need! Dr. Annie lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Dr. Antonio, their son Isaac, their two dogs, Dempsey and Daisy, and one orange cat named Reilly. In their free time, they enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, hiking, trail running, and spending time with family and friends. Tehilla Helman, DVMDr. Tehilla Helman graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine in August of 2021 and joined The Uptown Veterinarian soon afterwards. She decided she wanted to be a vet at three years old and never changed her mind. After earning her B.S. at Stern College in Manhattan, NY, she returned to the Midwest to attend veterinary school. Dr. Helman’s clinical interests include dentistry, dermatology, and caring for geriatric patients. When not working, she enjoys cooking and exploring the many local parks with her husband and two daughters.

Antonio Lombeida, DVM
Dr. Antonio N. Lombeida graduated from Hendrix College in 2001 with a B.A. in Biology. After graduation, Antonio studied oil painting in Florence, Italy, and assisted with a research project on the Galapagos Islands. Upon returning to Arkansas, Antonio turned his gaze toward the study of veterinary medicine and graduated from the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. Dr. Lombeida then practiced in Oswego, Illinois, for six years.
During this time he met and married Dr. Annie. Shortly after their marriage, they decided to continue their careers in Antonio’s home state of Arkansas. After five years in Arkansas, Annie and Antonio decided to take the next step and purchase a practice in Annie’s home state of Minnesota - and have a baby! Currently, Dr. Annie, Dr. Antonio, and baby Isaac are enjoying being a part of the Minneapolis community. Dr. Antonio enjoys practicing small animal medicine and surgery as well as exotic medicine and some minor exotic surgeries. Dr. Antonio also takes pleasure in spending time with his family, practicing the banjo, hiking, and hanging out with their two dogs (Daisy and Dempsey) and cat (Riley). Mariah, RVTMy name is Mariah and I am an RVT. I have been in the field for about 3 years now. I love to see all the four (and sometimes three) legged kiddos that come in.

Rachel Wheeler, DVM
Dr. Rachel Wheeler is a graduate of the University of Minnesota School of Veterinary Medicine and joined The Uptown Veterinarian in June of 2020. Dr. Rachel grew up on her family's cattle ranch south of Philip, SD where she was surrounded by cows, horses, cats, dogs, and even a pet gecko. She chose to complete her undergrad studies at Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD so she could be nearer to her grandparents. Dr. Rachel is a proud owner of 5 year-old twin orange tabby cats named Nova and Mr. Skittles. Her cats and her boyfriend Hunter keep her busy during her free time.
